Here are some details about the formalities you have to fulfil when starting to work in the ATLAS Milano team.

INFN registration

Depending on the subject of the thesis you can be associated to INFN, which, for example, gives you the possibility to get founds to travel to CERN. Instructions are here.

INFN local resources

INFN will provide you an account that will give you access to emails, computing local resources and more. Fill out this form.

• Check sul server and and specify the machines pcalur (the computers in "aula laureandi"), proof
• Fill Posizione as laureando
• Fill gruppo as ATLAS
• Fill con durata da and al according to what is decided with your supervisor. Usually, the period for students is 16 months
• Check ospite and fill Referente with your supervisor's name and email

Sign, scan and send the module to the emails listed in the form, and also to your supervisor. Attach your "codice fiscale" or "tesserino sanitario".

ATLAS association

In this way, you are becoming a member of the ATLAS experiment and you will have access to private documents such as the twiki, cds, indico and more.

You need to fill this form checking New Cern User and Physics Masters/diploma student. Send this module together with your ID to the local team leader and to your supervisor. You will receive the form back from the team leader, then you need to upload the filled form to cernbox, as written at the top of the form.

After discussing your thesis, upload the pdf on the INFN database.
